Angela Wanhalla starts her story with the mixed-descent community at Maitapapa, Taieri, where her great-grandparents were born. She goes on to explore the early history of cross-cultural encounter in southern New Zealand - a world framed by kinship networks. In exploring a particular group of family networks, In/visible Sight offers new insights into the colonial past, and asks new questions about mixed-descent identity.
